Visy Case Study: How Direct Posture Feedback Delivered Improved Health and Safety Outcomes

Manual handling injuries remain the leading cause of lost time among workers in the developed world, and the amounts paid for chronic musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are one of the most expensive of all compensations.

Packaging and recycling company, Visy, have over 5,500 employees across more than 120 sites in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe. Having implemented a wide range of safety measures, Visy was still experiencing a relatively high incidence of MSDs and wanted to explore opportunities to further mitigate this risk. Visy needed something to show workers just what course they were on and where they eventually would end up if they stuck to their old habits.

What People are Saying About Us

“You might miss something that deviates 3 to 5 degrees from the normal range of motion, which doesn’t seem like much. However when it comes to the playing field, that 3 to 5 degrees could be the difference between injury and a pain-free game.”
