TWO PROGRAMS. ONE BIG GAME CHANGER IN ASSESSING MOVEMENT AND MUSCLE ACTIVITY*

The dorsaVi™ Movement Suite combines state-of-the-art wearable motion sensor technology with sophisticated movement assessment software algorithms that accurately assess body movement and muscle activity*. The dorsaVi™ Movement Suite consists of two software programs.

ViMove™ focuses on low back management or functional improvement with live motion assessments, up to 24 hour monitoring, and biofeedback. Additionally, ViMove™ offers dorsaVi’s™ Movement Challenges – a program that provides users with visual feedback related to their back movement in real time.

ViPerform™ is designed for athletes and sports medicine professionals and includes modules to objectively assess running technique, knee movement, hamstring movement, and core function.

A MODULE TO SUIT ANY CONDITION
  • LOW BACK

    ViMove Low Back

The ViMove Low Back module contains a series of back movement tests designed to provide an objective measure of range of motion and muscle activity for the lumbar spine for up to 24 hours.

The ViMove Low Back module uses a variety of tests to measure of range of movement for the lower back, postural angles and back muscle activity. Low Back movement testing includes:

    • Lumbar Lordosis.
    • Back Flexion.
    • Back Extension.
    • Lateral Flexion.
    • Pelvic Tilts.
    • Sitting Posture.
    • Up to 24 Hour Out-of-Clinic Monitoring.

  • MOVEMENT CHALLENGES

    ViMove Movement Challenges

The Movement Challenges Module is a combination of Live Training assessments which can be used to train or retrain a patient’s lower back movement and muscle memory. There are three Movement Challenges to choose from and these can be used separately or in combination with other tests and assessments for back movement.

The Range and Speed Movement Challenge is focused on improving a subject’s lumbar spine range and speed of motion by requiring the subject to move their lumbar spine in eight defined directions as fast as they can without deviating.

The Stability and Balance Movement Challenge provides and assessment of how well a subject balances through a range of customizable movements.

The Pelvic Tilt Movement Challenge focuses on range and control of pelvic tilt by requiring the subject to move their pelvis into anterior and posterior movements to control an on-screen hang glider.

  • RUNNING

    ViPerform Running

The Running movement assessment module uses wireless movement sensors to provide cutting-edge running technique analysis, both on and off the field. The advanced software and hardware system enables your team to analyze biomechanical data outside of a regular laboratory environment to identify sensitive motion and muscle changes during an athlete’s run.

This information enables clinicians, coaches and athletes to gain valuable insights into a runner’s technique, strengths and weaknesses. They are then able to test the impact of modified running training programs and running techniques under real-life conditions while also working to prevent injury.

The flexibility to remotely monitor an athlete allows the assessor to observe the effects of terrain and distance on an athlete’s running style. This provides the assessor with valuable information to understand how fatigue and external conditions affect an athlete’s running style or performance over long distances.

  • KNEE

    ViPerform Knee

The Knee movement assessment module has been developed to understand knee control and knee movement in subjects pre and post-intervention to guide return to physical activity in various sports and can also be used as a screening tool to assess whether there is a risk of a knee injury. The Knee module features 5 tests: Single Leg Squat, Double Leg Squat, Hop, Single Leg Box Drop and Double Leg Box Drop.

The Knee module motion tests allow health professionals to measure three main metrics:

    • Tibial Inclination Angle: The maximum angular deviation reached in the sagittal plane while performing the test.
    • Valgus and Varus Speed: The maximum angular speed per second attained during the eccentric part of the movement.
    • Valgus and Varus Range of Motion: The maximum angular deviation of the shin from the start position in the frontal plane while performing the test.

  • HAMSTRING

    ViPerform Hamstring

The Hamstring module is based on a protocol first described by Carl Askling, and measures range of hamstring motion and velocity of both active and passive straight leg raises. Used primarily for baseline screening and for assessing readiness to return to play sport after an athletic injury. The Hamstring module provides accurate objective data to compare results across both legs and monitor the effectiveness of interventions.

  • FUNCTIONAL

    ViPerform Functional

The Functional module includes a range of dynamic, functional movement tests to assess pelvic and lower back control during standard Functional Movement Screening (FMS) tasks. These movement tests include Hurdle Step, Inline Lunge, Overhead Squat, Push-Up, Bird Dog, Plank Tests, Flexion, Extension and Rotation.

The data obtained by the Functional module can be used to generate baselines, track the effectiveness of interventions and track progress and improvement over time to reduce the risk of and prevent lower limb injury.

  • AMI

    ViPerform Athletic Movement Index

The Athletic Movement Index™ (AMI™) is a live assessment screening test, designed to assess functional movement performance. The tests highlight areas of good and poor movement performance which may put a patient or athlete at risk of lower limb injury.

During an AMI assessment, the subject’s legs and core are challenged through six dynamic tests which have been designed to assess strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination.

The essential movements that are tested during an assessment include: plank, overhead squat, side plank, single leg squat, single leg hop and single leg plant.

The testing results and motion analysis aid in the creation of an individual movement profile that can be used to help mitigate risk and improve sport or athletic performance.
